The Invisalign process broken down

  1. Consultation & 3D scan or impressions – we assess gums, teeth and bite, take photos/impressions, and discuss goals.
  2. Digital plan review – see your proposed tooth movements and outcome preview before you start.
  3. Fit & first aligners – we may place small tooth-coloured attachments to help guide movement.
  4. Wear 20–22 hrs/day – change to the next set every 1–2 weeks; short check-ins to track progress.
  5. Refinements if needed – minor tweaks to perfect your result.
  6. Retainers – clear retainers to keep your teeth in their new position long-term.

Guide to Invisalign

Invisalign also guarantees that it can straighten teeth with overbites, crossbites, open bites, underbites and other more complex bite problems with Invisalign Full/Comprehensive.

The right answer depends on the condition of your bite.

  • If you have minor or mild problems, such as slightly crooked teeth or gaps, you can expect Invisalign to be effective within 2 to 6 months.
  • The fastest versions of Invisalign are Invisalign i7, Invisalign Express & Invisalign Go, which promise to straighten very mild bite problems and conditions like gaps between teeth in 7 to 12 weeks.
  • If you’re closing gaps between teeth with Invisalign, you can expect that aligner to move 0.2mm with every tray, so you can expect Invisalign to take three months if you have a gap that’s 0.6mm large.
  • If we’re using Invisalign to correct complex bite problems, such as overcrowding, crooked teeth, or overbites, we can expect treatment times of around 6 months.
