Composite bonding costs & pay monthly options

Composite bonding in the UK costs between £150 and £350 per tooth, depending on your location, the dentist, and the clinic you choose. As a cosmetic treatment, it’s not available on the NHS and is only provided by private cosmetic dental clinics. At our local clinic in Tarvin, Chester, we charge a highly competitive rate of £250 per tooth.

How much for a full smile of composite bonding?

Paying via dental finance

We also offer 0% dental finance over 12 months (with no cost of credit) for treatments that cost £1,000 or more. So, if you wish to improve a few misshapen or uneven teeth using dental bonding, you can likely opt to spread the cost and pay in monthly instalments.

Are you suitable for composite bonding?

  • Gaps between teeth
  • Looking to improve the shape/size of uneven teeth
  • Repair chips, breaks or cracks in the tooth
  • Short teeth you want to lengthen
  • Have minor crooked teeth
  • Over the age of 18

Some patients suffering from severe tooth decay, gum disease, deep intrinsic stains, or those with severe crowding or misalignment may not be suitable for the procedure.

Composite edge bonding vs composite veneers

At our clinic, we offer both composite edge bonding, which is applied to specific areas of the tooth, such as jagged edges, to create a fuller, more even smile.

If you’re looking for a more substantial smile makeover, where you want to significantly change the look of your teeth, composite veneers may be the better choice.

These veneers are applied in layers to the entire tooth, allowing for precise control over the desired size and shape.

Composite veneers are also no-prep and cause no damage to the underlying tooth, just like edge bonding. Choosing between the two simply comes down to how dramatically you want to improve your smile.

The composite bonding process

The entire process is generally quick, minimally invasive, and unlikely to require any anaesthesia. Because of these benefits, it’s the perfect treatment option for patients who don’t want or need veneers but want small improvements that make a significant difference to their smile.

Begin with an examination, where we’ll inspect damaged or discoloured teeth to ensure they’re healthy enough for cosmetic treatment. We’ll also assess your smile thoroughly to ensure there are no hidden cavities that might cause you any issues later down the line.

Next, you’ll select the shade using a shade guide to choose the resin that closely matches your natural teeth, so your treatment perfectly blends with the rest of your smile. If you’re looking for a whiter appearance, we’ll likely need to whiten your teeth beforehand.

The surface of the tooth is prepared, where it is gently roughened to receive the resin. We’ll then cover it with a conditioning liquid to help it adhere.

A putty-like resin is directly applied to delicately reshape the teeth, paying particular attention to the edges of your social smile.

Once the resin is in place and you’re satisfied with the shape, we’ll cure it, which is achieved using a UV light that hardens the resin and bonds it to your tooth.

The final stage involves polishing the teeth to enhance their appearance, resulting in a natural finish. Following this stage, you’ll be free to eat after a few hours.
