Invisalign fixes a wide variety of misalignment, from mild to severe

Invisalign is a popular adult brace treatment because it’s invisible, convenient and comfortable. So, whether you want to love your smile a little more or tackle bigger, complex problems, enjoy a free consultation with Tudor House Dental Surgery to discover exactly what Invisalign can do for you in 12 months or less.

Overbites

An overbite is when the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth. Deep bites can cause serious oral health problems, such as tooth wear and jaw pain. Traditionally, fixed metal braces have been the most effective for treating this concern. However, modern clear aligners like Invisalign are successful in treating overbites and deep bites, typically within 6-12+ months.

Underbites

An underbite is when the upper arch teeth sit behind your bottom row (when the lower front teeth are in front of the upper teeth). Underbites can make it difficult to chew and speak clearly, which can cause your teeth to wear down faster. Invisalign is successful in fixing the majority of underbite cases. However, severe underbites might involve additional orthodontic work.

Crossbites

A crossbite is when the upper and lower jaws don’t line up or when some of the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth when the mouth is closed. The negative effects of a crossbite include tooth wear, tooth chips and cracks, receding gums and bone loss. Invisalign can fix some types of crossbite – but other types might require the intervention of other straightening tools.

Gap Teeth

If you have gaps between your teeth (spaces between two or more teeth), Invisalign can effectively close gaps of up to around 6mm per arch. Gapped teeth can sometimes contribute to issues such as food trapping, increased risk of gum disease and decay, speech difficulties (including a lisp), and even jaw discomfort if left untreated.

Open bites

An open bite occurs when the upper and lower teeth do not meet when the mouth is closed, which can make it difficult to bite and chew certain foods. It can also affect speech and overall bite function if left untreated. Invisalign has been proven to be an effective treatment option for correcting many open bite cases, often within 12 months.

Crowded teeth

Teeth can bunch up, overlap, twist (rotate), and sometimes be pushed in front or to the back in crowded-teeth cases when there is not enough room in the jaw, making it easier for tartar, plaque, and harmful bacteria to build up and cause tooth decay and gum disease. Invisalign can treat crowded and rotated teeth very quickly and effectively using aligners and attachments.

Will Invisalign work for you?

Over the past decade, Invisalign has advanced significantly and can now treat a much wider range of cases than ever before.

Even in more difficult or complex situations, additional features can be used to enhance treatment precision and effectiveness.

For example, SmartForce attachments can be used on specific teeth to help apply targeted pressure – particularly in cases where the bite is more stubborn and requires additional guidance to move teeth into correct alignment.

Tudor House Dental Surgery can help see if Invisalign can work for your case. As certified providers of Invisalign, there’s no one you can trust better to fix your orthodontic problems.

We’ll be happy to invite you in for a free Invisalign assessment if you’re concerned that the treatment may not be suitable for your bite condition, where you’ll be able to explore your options and preview your potential final results before you even start.
