Want whiter, better-shaped teeth without your dental work looking obvious? At Tudor House Dental, we offer ultra-thin veneer restorations that can be bonded to a few teeth (or even a full smile) to correct chips, gaps, stains, uneven shapes, mild misalignment, and so much more.
As a cosmetic dental practice located in Tarvin since 1983, our speciality is results that look believable – natural, fresh, symmetrical and always in harmony with your face and features.
Improve colour
Intrinsic staining, dull enamel that won’t lift with whitening.
Change shape & proportion
Short, narrow or uneven teeth; worn edges.
Close spacing
Small gaps or mild crowding (paired with alignment if needed).
Create symmetry
Bringing the smile line into balance for photos and real life.
We offer two main types of veneers, both of which are excellent and reliable for producing great end results. Composite veneers are the low-cost option for a smile makeover and offer instant results. Porcelain veneers are a more significant investment, as they require time, skill, and precision.
Composite veneers (0.5mm thick) are directly applied to the tooth in layers, offering patients a same-day option to makeover their smile.
Taking only a few hours and lasting between 5-7 years, composite veneers are a great option to close gaps, even out tooth shapes and size and mask discolouration.
Porcelain veneers do everything that composite veneers do, but they boast superior properties, utilising the finest materials possible for tooth replacement, which makes them appear more natural and tooth-like.
The stronger materials used are thinner and much longer-lasting (not to mention stain-resistant).
| Comparison | Composite veneers | Porcelain veneers |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Improves tooth shape, colour and symmetry using tooth-coloured composite resin | Improves tooth shape, colour and symmetry using custom-made porcelain |
| Treatment time | Often completed in one visit, taking one day to apply | Usually takes three dental visits over three weeks including lab time |
| Tooth preparation | Often non or minimally invasive require no drilling or anaesthetic | May involve removing a thin layer of enamel so the veneer fits naturally |
| Appearance | Natural-looking, especially for subtle or moderate smile improvements | Highly aesthetic with a polished, premium and longer-lasting finish |
| Durability | Lasts up to 10 years | Lasts up to 20 years |
| Stain resistance | Can stain over time, especially with tea, coffee, red wine or smoking | Much more stain-resistant than composite resin |
| Repairability | Easier to repair, polish, reshape or add to | More difficult to repair and may need replacing if chipped or damaged |
| Maintenance | May need polishing, repairs or refreshing over time | Needs good hygiene and regular reviews, but usually needs less maintenance |
| Cost | From £250 per tooth | From £750 per tooth |
Only need to fix minor issues like jagged tooth edges or uneven tooth shape? Composite bonding, similar to composite veneers, can be applied to a portion of the tooth rather than covering it entirely, resulting in a faster, same-day treatment that starts at £250 per tooth. Compare bonding and veneers.
To improve the look of your visible smile, often six veneers are recommended:
Dental finance is available interest-free over 12 months. The above finance examples are 60-month finance (fixed 12.9% APR). Dental finance is only available for treatments costing over £1,500.
It’s a legitimate concern for most patients that their veneers will look and feel unnatural – but we’ve perfected our processes to avoid this.
For example, you’ll work closely with our cosmetic dentists to design your smile (picking shape, size and colour), then you’ll also have the opportunity to see them, try them on and wear them so you can make any final changes before we cure them into place.
Because with veneers, it’s not just about how they look, but how they function, operate and feel.
