Common patient concerns and FAQs
Pick it up by the crown, not the root. If possible, place it back into the socket. If you cannot, store it in milk or keep it inside your cheek and call Tudor House Dental Surgery immediately on 01829 741284.
Immediately. A knocked-out adult tooth has the best chance of being saved when it is treated as quickly as possible.
We will make the area comfortable and talk you through tooth replacement options, such as a removable denture, a dental bridge, or a dental implant.
Yes. Tudor House Dental Surgery can provide natural-looking tooth replacement options designed to blend with your surrounding teeth. Dental implants offer superior natural-looking aesthetics.
A partial denture is often the quickest option. A bridge or dental implant may provide a more fixed long-term solution, with a bridge taking a few weeks and an implant taking a few months. Temporary teeth possible to close the gap.
Not necessarily. Your dentist will discuss temporary and longer-term options to help restore your appearance while the area heals or while your final replacement is being planned.
Sometimes a loose tooth can firm up again if it is stabilised and the supporting tissues heal. Your dentist will assess the tooth and may use a splint to hold it steady while it recovers.
Dental splinting is a procedure in which a loose or injured tooth is gently attached to nearby teeth for support. This helps keep it stable while the gum and supporting tissues heal.
